Project DRIVE Career Days

Career Day

Twice a month all the students and staff of Project DRIVE will participate in “Project DRIVE Career Days.” The purpose of “Career Days” is for the students to experience various aspects of employment expectations. The reason Project DRIVE staff participates with “Career Days” is to model/demonstrate various outfits that could be worn during an interview. The students will be expected to dress as if they are applying for a job. During the “Career Day” the students will be meeting with their case managers and will learn certain competencies that will assist them in obtaining employment. For example, the students will learn how to complete job applications (online and paper applications), cover letters, resumes, thank you letters, interviewing techniques, how to dress, and a variety of other skills. During the school year the students will be creating a “Career Portfolio.” The goal is for each student to have a “career portfolio” that will show the various competencies that they learned throughout the school year.
